My apologies for not putting out the Blog for quite a while, but with racing in full flow, time is eaten away! Winners are like buses, you stand there waiting for ages & then three all come at once. Well it was beginning to feel a bit like that with our winners. We were sat on two winners for weeks until the 3rd July & since then we have had five more winners! It was very fitting that the...

It was great to see Celestial Dawn become  a mother this week, to a lovely filly foal. CD as she was fondly known,  was the founder horse of Grange Park Racing back in November of 2011. She was a real star, as not only did I breed her, but she won twice for us, as well as numerous placed efforts. Suprisingly she showed a lot of speed, winning over around 6 furlongs. I say suprisingly, as...

The beauty of syndicate ownership,  unlike sole ownership is that a type of comaraderie builds between owners & hopefully friendships are built. I certainly witnessed this building in Glasgow over a couple of days this week. The reason for the trip was for a Team of quizzers captained by Terry Reilly to film an episode of "Eggheads". Terry is a very keen quizzer, having previously been a...

It's always in the back of your mind when you get a new horse, Will the shares in the horse be popular? It quickly became obvious that that the shares in FOXTROT KNIGHT were going to be!! We had arranged to have an Open Morning at Ruth Carr's Mowbray House Farm at Stillington nr York, to help us sell the shares. We are still having the open morning, but with only a couple of shares left in this ex...

We are really delighted to announce that FOXTROT KNIGHT has joined the GPR Team. This exciting sprinter was bought for us by Ruth Carr at the Newmarket Tattersalls Horses in Training Sales. It is a horse she knows well, as she trained it prior to the sales & was keen to buy it back when the previous owners wanted to sell him. He is a proven winner & along with Cosmic Chatter, will contest ...

It was fitting that the week before the start of the massive Tattersalls horses in training sales at Newmarket. Cosmic Chatter who was a purchase at the very same sales in the Autumn of 2014, should pass our target of 12 winners in a year. This was GPR's thirteenth winner of the year & his second win of the season.  This all seemed all very co- incidental, as we have put another syndicat...

With our yet unnamed 2yo Equiano filly working well at home, we are getting excited about our Open Morning at Ann Duffield's. It should be a really nice morning, if the weather stays fine. Not only will we be working the filly on the gallops, it is also a chance to see the other Ann Duffield trained GPR horses put through the paces. Port Master is starting to get back into some serious work, after...

Back in November last year a lovely EQUIANO filly, bred by the sire's owner James Acheson, arrived at Ann Duffields Constable Burton Yard. With arriving so late in the year, having just come out of a field in Ireland, she was a lot more backward than the rest of Ann's yearling bunch. The majority of her other peers, had been through the sales ring, so were a lot more advanced in their education. O...

Firstly I would just like to say a very well done to PJ Mcdonald, who reached the milestone of 500 Winners on the Flat at York yesterday. PJ is stable jockey to Ann Duffield & is very underated jockey. This is a magnificent achievement, being that he was a successful jumps jockey, who had won the Scottish Grand National, before deciding to switch codes in 2007. The July Edition of the GPR New...

After a couple of quiet weeks, last week turned out to be quite a good. At the start of the week we were hoping to have four runners spread over four different courses. Then this beautiful British weather intervened. On tuesday we headed off to Beverley with the Ann Duffield trained TOBOGGAN'S FIRE. Rain was forecast to all parts of the country, but as I got closer & closer to the track, the b...

WINNER!!! It's always a worry when the turf season commences, as you never really know when you will get your first winner. Imagine then, the relief when GPR had their first winner of the new season, within the first couple of weeks of it starting. You tend not to have many runners, as the season tends to splutter into action, with not many race meetings about, so it was a real bonus when TOBOGGAN...

With the turf season only just under way, it was great to get our first winner on the score sheet. On a smashing sunny spring day at Redcar & with plenty of GPR owners in attendance, it was a fantastic day recording a win with the Ann Duffield trained TOBOGGAN'S FIRE, following a really promising 2nd with the Ruth Carr trained ABUSHAMAH, in the previous race on the card. This was the second t...

What our members say

"I have been with Grange Park Racing as an owner since the end of 2013 and can definitely recommend them to anyone interested in affordable syndicate ownership.

Alan has a superb racing knowledge and keeps everyone informed of their horse's progress; when entries are made and declarations confirmed.  When you go to the races you are made welcome and to really feel part of a team with the other owners.  Alan is always there to introduce everyone to the trainer and jockey.

The day after a race he sends a comprehensive report with trainer's and jockey's comments and future plans.  Horses are based with trainers covering a wide area from North Nottinghamshire to North Yorkshire making stable visits accessible to many”.

Owner - Peter Sweeting

Grange Park Racing joined our yard in 2011.  I have enjoyed meeting lots of different people who are genuinely very caring about the horses, some even get a little bit attached.   Everyone involved just love a day out at the races enjoying the prestige of being an owner.  The syndicate is well run and Alan makes everybody very welcome.  I am always happy to recommend  GPR to new owners.

Trainer - Karen Tutty

For anyone like me, who has been involved in horse racing for years, and who knows just he wants from an ownership syndicate, GPR ticks all the boxes. A good spread of capable horses, all with talented and easily approachable trainers; really good value for money; lots of days at the races, supplemented by stable visits and social gatherings; and a racing manager in Alan Crombie who effortlessly combines meticulous professionalism with personal warmth and affability, and who seems to have an in-depth knowledge of all his horses and owners. For anyone contemplating ownership for the first time, I can think of no better place to start than with GPR, for all the above reasons.

Owner - Terry Reilly

“I can highly recommend Grange Park Racing as a syndicate to get involved in.  Alan is a positive but realistic and is straight forward to deal with.  He keeps his owners very well informed of their horses wellbeing, entries, declarations and jockey bookings as well as sending  post race reports that include trainer and jockey feedback.  As a trainer I’m always happy to suggest to new and existing owners that GPR are a good syndicate to get involved with as I can be confident that Alan will look after them well.”

Trainer - Ruth Carr

I have trained for Grange Park racing since 2012 when they bought a two year old “Muspelheim” from me.  Alan and his owners are fantastic to train for, they are patient, enthusiastic, great fun and lucky owners too! Alan does a great job of running the syndicate and keeps his owners really well informed

Trainer - Ann Duffield

We would thoroughly recommend Grange Park Racing to anyone considering owning a share in a racehorse.

Everyone is made to feel extremely welcome, with regular stable visits, newsletters and popular social events.

Alan Crombie always attends the racedays to ensure all the owners have a enjoyable day at the races.

The thrill of cheering our first winner last year with Toboggan's Fire at Beverley was amazing.

We had no hesitation in purchasing a share in another two year old this year.

We have made many friends at Grange Park Racing and look forward to further success in 2016

Owners - John & Sarah Fields

"We've found GPR to be a friendly, value for money, professionally run horse racing syndicate . Alan really looks after his owners and makes sure they always know everything that's happening regarding their horses with regular communication, frequent stable visits and detailed reviews of their races including the views of the trainer and the jockey. I've been involved with some other well known syndicates and they don't compare. I doubt there is a better value for money racing syndicate in the UK. We started with one horse with GPR and now have three and can't recommend Grange Park Racing highly enough."

Owners - Ged & Brenda Shields

I have been involved with race horse ownership with other syndicates for over 5 years  and I am very pleased with the service that Alan provides, nothing is too much trouble and the  feedback and race analysis after your horse has run, in my opinion is second to none. I hope I will still be in a position to be involved with GPR for many years to come.

Owner - David Thayre

I joined Grange Park Racing at the start of the year when they syndicated a horse with a trainer I was already involved as an owner with. The fact that I have extended my ownership with GPR since then is an indication of the enjoyment I have had since being joining them. Having been involved with other racing syndicates in the past, I find the team and other owners with GPR as good as any.  The quality of information on the horses provided by Alan both before race-day and after the horse has run coupled with the experience on the day is second to none with every thought taken in making you feel important as a shareholder in the horse. For anyone looking for a great experience as an owner with a personal touch, good horses with trainers who care about them, plenty of opportunities to visit the yards, and with decent chances to visit that elusive winning enclosure, I would highly recommend giving GPR a call.

Steve

I have been very impressed with Grange Park Racing since joining in December 2012, Alan has always informed me when my horse is entered and declared, the following day after the race I am emailed a full race report including trainer and jockey feed back. There has been several social events which have been great to get to meet other owners.
I would highly recommend GPR to anyone looking for an affordable racing syndicate.
